Filling of Vacant Routes
In effect since January 1st, 2009, the new clause 12.03 of the collective agreement has been changed to allow RSMC members to apply for transfer when a route becomes vacant in a postal installation located within a 50 kilometre radius. The most senior qualified employee from among the RSMC who apply will be assigned to the postal installation and be subject to the process described in clause 12.04. However, the successful applicant will have to stay in that postal installation for at least two (2) years, unless Canada Post decides to waive this condition. . |

BI-WEEKLY PAY SYSTEM On February 11, 2009, Canada Post sent you a letter to inform you of some very important changes to the way in which you are paid. This letter includes the following statements: “…This change comes about as a result of negotiation with your bargaining unit.” “…Effective April 30, 2009, RSMCs will paid on a bi-weekly basis.” “…It will mean that you are paid ‘in arrears’ for earnings from the previous two weeks.” It should be noted that this also applies to on-call relief employees (OCRE). |
Annual boot allowance for RSMC employees
During the last round of RSMC collective bargaining, the union negotiated a boot allowance into the collective agreement. Clause 24.03 provides that, as of January 1st, 2007, and every year afterwards, each employee with RSMC duties shall receive a boot allowance, and that the payment must be issued by January 31st each year. |
